Among Anthony (Tony) Bruno’s professional accomplishments are founding two banks, serving as Chairman, President, and CEO of a bank, being a Managing Partner in a CPA firm, being a Partner in a real estate firm, teaching accounting at the university level, and working as a financial advisor to businesses and individuals.

What he cherishes most is the opportunity to help others. “Being of service is a core value I share with Perry,” he says of Perry Koplik, the founder of Preferred Financial Partners (PFP), whom he has known from his early days as a CPA. “We happen to have experience in the areas in which we have acquired experience and training over the years, but the driver for our work is the opportunity to leave a positive impression on people’s lives.”
Tony is an integral member of the PFP team, helping to advising businesses, their owners, and executives. Many clients seek the firm’s advice in setting up or maintaining qualified and non-qualified retirement plans, and in the process discover the wide range of services PFP offers to both businesses and the individuals who operate them. While Anthony no longer operates in the capacity of a CPA, his knowledge of taxation helps him guide clients to making tax-conscious financial decisions.
In his former life as an accountant, Tony was always interested in investment management, and obtained his securities license as soon as CPAs were able to do so. “We offered wealth management over 25 years ago, long before it was fashionable for accounting firms to do so,” he recalls. “Particularly in the arenas of business and estate planning, the financial business deserves an understanding of taxation, there’s no question about that,” he adds.
Tony’s passion project is to help sustain the St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center of Paterson, New Jersey, where he has a seat on the Foundation Board. He is married, and has a daughter.
